Choosing the name of your blog is the first thing to do before starting a blog. It is one of the hardest parts of the blogging process. I bet you it isn’t the one. If you own a domain name fill what is required in the right. Once you have added your domain click on the next to complete final registration as shown in the pics below.
Fill the account information and make sure to add your own email. You need an email to log in.
In the next select the package plan options for your account. The choice you have are “12, 24 & 36 months). Go for some extra options for your website security if you have bucks or else not required.
Do uncheck the package boxes if you are not going for extras package before making payment.

Check your email, you will receive an email from Bluehost. The email from Bluehost, the activation links. They will direct you to open the Cpanel, your hosting control panel. In addition, Cpanel is where you can access your website info and data.
More importantly, that is where we install WordPress.
Go to your Cpanel, look for website section and select WordPress.
Click on Install WordPress logo to install WordPress.
Installation of WordPress is for free.
Next, you will be asked to enter your domain,(your URL) for installing WordPress. select your domain from the dropdown or check your domain.
After that, you have to enter your Site Name(site title), username and password. Remember to check all the checkboxes and then click install.
The installation will take a minute. Once the installation is finished, a success message will pop up on the top header bar.
Then click on the link given, the screen will show your login credential, WordPress login URL and Password. Take note of it or a screenshot it to remember until you set your own password. No pressure though, Bluehost will also mail you a copy of it in your email.

Log in to WordPress
Click on the WordPress log in the link you receive or type www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin. Enter your username and password to log in.

Let’s go ahead to customize your blog. The first thing we’ll do is to choose the themes for your blog. Themes take care of your blog visual appearance.
There’re thousands of free and premium themes by WordPress. You can go for the one that suits your blog ideas and content.
Steps to add new or change the themes
- Go to Appearance options in your dashboard.
- Select themes
- Click on the add new button
- You will see numbers of themes to choose and search for your blog
- You can also upload a zip file of themes by clicking on the upload theme button.
- If you’ve found the theme, click on the install button
- After installing it, you will see the activate button, Click on it to activate your theme.
- The final step with the theme is to customize it.
- To customize it, go to appearance and click customize your blog.

Publishing your blog post
Yo! your game begins now, creating your blog post. Let’s write your first blog post.
- Click on the Post and then to Add New from WordPress dashboard
- Editor screen will pop in, write your title of the post
- Start writing your content in the editor area
- Once are done writing your blog post, click on the publish button to post or publish your writing online.
